Micro-credentials

What are micro-credentials?
A micro-credential is an instructional program created to verify mastery of a specific skill or competency. Participants who successfully complete micro-credentials earn digital badges via Credly to document and share their achievements. These micro-credentials are short, competency-based recognitions and are not counted as an academic program or degree.
At VCU, our micro-credentials are industry-aligned to ensure they provide immediate and practical workplace value. They can be structured as in-person or asynchronous modules to aid in upskilling or reskilling.

Current Micro-credentials
Earners of this badge from the VCU Office of Innovation & Strategic Design have mastered the core frameworks of the LEGO® Serious Play (LSP) methodology through an education and innovation lens. Participants understand LSP principles, know how to apply them to daily work, and have completed a hands-on workshop to tackle relevant innovation challenges. Through individual and collaborative exercises, they used LEGO® bricks to model complex thoughts and reflections, and practiced leading their own session under the observation of a certified facilitator.
